Something From the Past

A friend from church asked me to make her a couple of inspirational cards for her to give to her friends.  As I was looking for ideas, I came across a card by Jackie Bolhuis.  She used a technique I haven't done in years and had forgotten how easy and beautiful the effect. Some things never get old!

To create this effect, simply use a baby wipe to create your own stamp pad.  Spread a folded wipe onto a paper plate or the largest acrylic block; add four drops of each color---Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, and Highland Heather--to baby wipe, fairly close together.  This becomes your ink pad.  Ink up solid flower from Inspirations Abloom set with just 2-3 taps; don't move too much around--makes colors muddy.  Stamp flower and repeat.  Ink detail flower stamp and stamp over each solid flower; add flower center and leaves (solid leaf is stamped off so it lighter.  Add sentiment and sprinkles (I used the one from Branching Out set); layer onto cardstock and you've got a beautiful card!
