Easy Card--Berry Botanical Vellum

Sometimes an easy card is the BEST!  And using the Berry Botanical Vellum Specialty Paper (Product of the Month) is a simple way to do that.  It's the May Product of the Month and can be yours for only $5 with a $75 purchase.  This vellum uses beautiful Springy colors--Flirty Flamingo, Fresh Freesia, Hydrangea Hue just to name a few.  Thanks Mary Knabe for the great video!

Super quick card to make using this vellum.  Card base is Fresh Freesia; add 4 x 5-1/4" vellum layer.  Layer another 3-1/2 x 4-1/2" piece of Fresh Freesia.  Add 3 strips of Vellum (1 x 4-1/4") on card stock.  I do the outer ones first.  Stamp sentiment onto Fresh Freesia scrap and die cut.  Use White Gel Pen to add detail; attach with dimensions and you're done.

Scalloped Blooms Card

There's a new bundle that is soooo useful, Scalloped Blooms.  It has 9 sentiments that you'll find useful, but more importantly, it has scalloped circle dies that "nestle" inside each other.  There are also other dies that are great for tags.  I seem to keep using them in my card-making.  Thanks to Barb Brimhall for the inspiration!  Yes, we're using them in my classes next Mon. and Tues.  Are you coming?

This is a unique card (that fits in an envelope) that is cut on Beige Card Stock with the largest scallops (cut 2). scored 1/2" on both from the top; the top is then folded and glue down.  Perfect Pine Ribbon is attached to card. The flowers are die cut from Velvet Meadow DSP with the 3rd largest scalloped die. I cheated with the Berry Burst tags cut with the 3 banner punch and used to of the pieces to create a longer tag.  Dreamy Flowers embellishments were added to finish off the card.  Want to see the bundle?  Go HERE

Flowering Meadow Card

Good Morning---If you've got a new catalog, take a look at the Velvet Meadow Suite Collection (if not, go HERE).  It is absolutely beautiful!  Not only are the stamps and dies gorgeous, both the Velveteen Specialty Paper and the Flocked Velvet Meadow DSP give texture and are stunning.  It add such class to your cards.  Thanks to Stamping with AmyK for the great inspiration.  I only changed it a bit.

Can you see the flocking are the paper?  I stamped the flowers instead of just die cutting the DSP.  If you choose to stamp--ink up stamp with a Berry Burst, then stamp off 3x to get the lighter image.  Use an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Peaceful Pine card stock; score at 4-1/4"; cut of 1" to create card base;  Cloud Cover card stock was used to create the scalloped circle (use 4th one from the center);  Love the Scalloped Blooms Dies--so useful. Oh, and the leaves are die cut from the Velveteen Assortment Paper.  Dreamy Flowers Gems adds the finishing touches.

Father's Day Card, Already?

Yes, I know we just celebrated Mother's Day (and to all the mother's I hope it was a good day), but now it's time for all the dads.  This week I will be teaching the beginning card class at the Anthem Center and I was asked to do a masculine Father's Day card. (Is there any other type?)

It's a pretty simple card using 1" cut squares from Artisan Sketched Garden DSP.  They're arranged in a geometric pattern and then the sentiment it stamped on the front.  A few squares are also on the inside.  Since I don't need a Father's Day card, since my dad has passed away, I turned another card into a B-Day card.  I can always use one of those. 2026-2028 In Colors Bookmark

Since the May-June 2026 Catalog was launched this week, we made an In Colors bookmark.  I think everyone had fun, except there was quite a bit of grumbling when they had to stamp on a 1-3/8 x 3-3/4" piece of white card stock and then use the paper cutter to cut 5 pieces of 1-3/8 x 3/4".  They all know now where the 3/4" mark is on the paper cutter! Yes, there was reason you learned about inches in school :)

The next step was to color each piece with one of the New In Colors Blender Pens; attach to the correct color of card stock (I had already cut these); attach to bookmark; add a colored flower and In Color dot.  They were happy with the finished product and enjoyed seeing the colors close up.  Thankful we only do this once a year!!
