Pretty Poinsettia Card

Well, it's the last day of September, so it's time to start thinking about Christmas cards.  I like working with Christmas colors, so this card, by Stamp with Amy K fits the bill.  Her card actually had two Poinsettias, but I was only up to do one since I was making samples for my card class next week.

Start with embossing Basic White with the Textured Three-Ring Embossing Folder. It gives depth to the card.  There is a bit of die-cutting, but I was able to die cut all the flower pieces (4) on a quarter piece of Real Red card stock and cut the leaf (Peaceful Pine) at the same time.  The tiny gold flower center---adhere a piece of a multi-purpose adhesive sheet to the back of Gold Foil before die cutting.  It makes it so much easier to attach to the flower.

It may be hard to see, but JOY is embossed in gold and then colored in with Peaceful Pine Shimmer Brush.  Stamp a sentiment from the Pretty Poinsettia on the inside, along with the Poinsettia and leaves stamps to complete the look.
