Poppy Moments

 Hi Everyone--hope you've had a good weekend.  We still have high humidity and rumbling skies here in Henderson!  Truly a monsoon season for us and our first.  Positive---temps only in the 90's, not 100's; Negative---my hair curls :)

Last week, I co-taught my monthly class at the community center here where I live.  We had 16 stampers and were packed.  The card I did I "case'd" from a card one of our team members, Ann Huebner-Stampin' Annies.  She designed it last year, so I had to improvise a bit.  The biggest "oh no" was the vellum paper.  Last catalog, we had colored vellum paper (I needed it in yellow), so like a good Marine, I had to adapt.  Did know you can add color to Vellum paper?  Well, you can and simply, too.  Just choose the color you want (So Saffron for me) and grab you Blending Brush.  Start rubbing the color in circles and there it is---all colored.  Needs to dry a bit.  I didn't have the exact embossing folder or ribbon (her's were retired), but I made it work.  Use your Tombow Glue for flowers, leaves, and ribbon. You may end up with sticky fingers, but adhesive will show through the vellum.  Hope you will give this a try.  Let me know what you think---

Sweetest Cherries

 Yes, I know I'm behind in getting the new July-August 2002 Mini and July/August Saleabration catalogs posted, but I recently got home our annual family trip to a cabin for a week at Hume Lake Christian Campground in the Sequoias with my entire family.  What a fantastic time we had, 16 of us (including 2 babies + adopted family).  Temps in 80's during the day and 50's at night. Would have loved to stay another week!   Here's some pics:

 

  

Now to Sweetest Cherries-- this card was originally designed by Robyn Cardon.  I love how easy it was to make!

It comes in a bundle with the stamps and punch.  The cherry and leaf are both embossed with clear powder.  It's soooo summery 😀

**tip** use your stamp pad to emboss with; make sure it's pretty juicy, put clear powder on top, and emboss from the BACK side instead of the front.

Bottled Happiness + Update

Good Morning--I hope you all had a good weekend.  Here in Henderson, temps were 100+!  So many of you have been thoughtful in asking about my health. Here's an update----everyday I am finding I'm having more energy and endurance.  I'm back to doing stamp classes (yeah!) and am in general, feeling better.  I'm down to needing only one nap a day and sometimes, I even don't need that.  It's been a long haul, but things continue to improve.  Thank you for all your concerns and prayers.  I always say you don't realize how sick you were until you feel better.

Bottled Happiness seemed like an appropriate set to share ideas with you.  Here are two ideas--one from me and one comes from Su Mohr. I was never one for shaker cards because they were a BIG hassle, but with the plastic domes now, each one already has the foam adhesive on both side.  Now, I can't get enough of them.  The stamparatus is a MUST HAVE to make lining up the stamps easy!

Once a month, I co-teach a class with my friend, Terri, at the Sun City Anthem Community Center.  When I saw this card designed by our Inkyfingers team member, Donna Winter, I knew it was the project I wanted to do for the month of June.  It showcases the new In Colors in a beautiful way.  I also like the new Split Card Textures dies.  The stamp set, Sending Smiles, hopefully puts a smile on your face.  Thanks Donna for the GREAT Idea!!!
