Something From the Past

A friend from church asked me to make her a couple of inspirational cards for her to give to her friends.  As I was looking for ideas, I came across a card by Jackie Bolhuis.  She used a technique I haven't done in years and had forgotten how easy and beautiful the effect. Some things never get old!

To create this effect, simply use a baby wipe to create your own stamp pad.  Spread a folded wipe onto a paper plate or the largest acrylic block; add four drops of each color---Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, and Highland Heather--to baby wipe, fairly close together.  This becomes your ink pad.  Ink up solid flower from Inspirations Abloom set with just 2-3 taps; don't move too much around--makes colors muddy.  Stamp flower and repeat.  Ink detail flower stamp and stamp over each solid flower; add flower center and leaves (solid leaf is stamped off so it lighter.  Add sentiment and sprinkles (I used the one from Branching Out set); layer onto cardstock and you've got a beautiful card!

Inspiring Imperfections

Happy Monday---the heat ~110 degrees continues here in the desert!  Hoping to get into the 90's by the end of the week. 😅 Don't forget products with the new In Colors are 15% off through the end of the month.

Since it's too hot to even go the pool, it's a perfect time to stamp--isn't it always??  The Kintsugi Inspirations Suite in the 2025-26 Annual Catalog is absolutely beautiful--especially the DSP!  It has two sheets that contain different colors of vases, bowls, and then the flowers.  Easy to use the dies to cut out and make a variety of colors with the same layout.  I did use Joined Together embossing folder on the card base and used Textured Notes rectangles under the vases.  Something out of my wheel house, but was well-received by the ladies last week.  :)

Bright Borders

Good Morning!!!  Sadly, I'm back down the mountains of the Sequoias, but happy to be back stamping,  Had a wonderful time with the kiddos and the cooler temps!

This card, Bright Borders, is from Patty Bennett and is a great way to use up leftover DSP. You must use 12x12" paper--which we have--and score/fold your 5-1/2" x 12" card stock at 4-1/4", 7-1/4", and 10-1/4".  DSP is cut just 1/4" narrower.   Bright Borders set and punch add just the right sentiments with lots of different choices.  I liked using the Garden Green for my card base.  It brings out all the colors of the DSP.  I did punch out a Garden Green to offset the sentiment.  Everyone loved making this at our last class!

Cutest Onesie
This adorable bundle isn't new, but is soooo cute!  I find that while my friends aren't having babies, their children are.  Laura Seki created this beautiful card--thanks!  The eyelet embossing folders is adhered with the "debossed" side showing.  Using two of the dies from the Spotlight on Nature dies creates the ring for the onesie.  Beautiful Bokeh creates a great background for a boy or a girl.  Use both colors on the card for the "we don't know the sex of the baby."  Enjoy Shopping!!!
