Last Day Free Shipping + Artful Amaryllis

Just a reminder that today is the last day for Stampin' Up!'s Free Shipping offer.  My Customer Appreciation of 40% off continues until Dec. 12th.  Please use Host Code VKFZEGRP when ordering online---Thanks!

Artful Amaryllis is a set we will be using next week in my class (are you coming?). It was originally created by Julie Gilson of stampingala.com.  Thanks Julie for the inspiration.  I tweaked her card a bit--less layers--but this is a card that beautifully displays the amaryllis.  (which is retiring from Sept-Dec mini) Hope you enjoy it.

Sweet Days of Autumn

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!  I know I have so much to be thankful for and you are included in that!  Yes, the Christmas season officially begins Friday, but here's one last card for Autumn (the style could be used anytime of year). And yes, this another card we'll be making next week in my class.

It's a pretty simple card to make. Early Espresso is cut to 3-1/2 x 3-1/2" for the mat with the DSP.  DSP is cut to 3' x 3-1/4", then cut to 1/2", 1", and 1-1/2" to be layered onto Early Espresso square.

Hang an Ornament

Well---three weeks ago, I came down with a cold (thank you, Mike). By last weekend, I was feeling close to normal.  Boy, was I wrong!  Last Sunday night, round two hit with a vengeance.  Ended up with a sinus infection and bronchitis and was down for the count all last week.  Finally feeling better (but tired today) thanks to meds and a wonderful husband, but it's hard to lose a week or two of your life.  The worst part was, I had all the cards/materials ready for my classes this week.  December is looking good to me!

Having said all of that, I still wanted to share the projects we will be doing soon.  You've already seen Snowy Wonder (love the fun fold of that card).  Here's Hang an Ornament using Take a Bow DSP.  This card definitely took some time (the little gold cut-outs for the ornaments were a challenge, but worth it).  "Christmas" is popped up using an adhesive sheet with Basic White layered on top; then stamp "Christmas" and die cut.  So much easier than mini adhesive dots!  Enjoy!  I'm going to plop on the couch for a bit and watch football.  Go Trojans!!

Snowy Wonder--A Bit Different

It's a beautiful morning here in Henderson and life is good.  My cold is just about gone and I'm in a stamping mood!  It is hard to believe Thanksgiving is close and Christmas is coming---Yikes!

Snowy Wonder is a versatile suite; it even has a die to create the image of a snow globe, along with loose snowflakes to complete the card.  I have to admit, I favor the cute penguins!  The DSP contains paper that works with the dies to add some whimsy to your project. The card below does just that. Use Stampin' Blends to color the gems; we do love BLING!  This card was created by Susan Campfield--thanks!

Measurements for this card:

  • Poppy Parade 5-1/2” x 11 (card base);

    • On the right side, cut 1” in from the edge to the 5-1/2” score line and STOP.

  • Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper (DSP) 3” x 5-1/4” for the left side of the front of the card

  • Snow Scenes Designer Series Paper (DSP) 3/4” x 5-1/4” for the right side of the front of the card

  • Basic White 3” x 5-1/4” for the inside of the card

  • Basic White 1-1/4” x 4” to die cut the long rectangle die from the Peaceful Seasons dies

Now---Here's today's card:

Love the Splendid Autumn DSP.  It's one of those things you need to see in person because of the scenes that are shown.  This card uses just a bit of the 6x6 DSP.  The colors are listed on the back of the package, so very little thinking is involved. The Changing Leaves Embossing Folder creates a great background for the entire card!
